Reach out

(Not be confused with: reach around)

"We invite you to reach out to your domain registrar for further information..."

"Having problems? Reach out to us on..."

In my day, we had a single word for it:

Somehow that phrase reach out reframes the business-customer relationship  so that customers are cast as shipwreck survivors flailing around in the sea trying to reach out to a lifebuoy. And, for the sake of an extra word, the business gets to sound like some heroic rescuer.

Bull. Shit.

Who needs this sort of crud?

I haven't checked, but I bet GoDaddy is full of this shit. The Americans seem to lap up this reaching out, going forward, bollocks.
